Filmmaking 101 by Jojo Henrickson and John Estrada
Jojo Henrickson is a multi-talented actor/writer/director, achieving critical acclaim for screenwriting the 2007 Lionsgate release, LADRON QUE ROBA A LADRON. A native of Mcallen, Texas, Jojo's diverse background in stage, television, film and even the stand-up comedy club circuit have enabled him to remain in the business for over twenty years. He has produced and directed for both local and national Spanish language television including KRCA in Los Angeles and NBC’s Telemundo Network. In 2001 he wrote, edited, produced and directed his first feature film - the indie Latino thriller, THE BARRIO MURDERS. Most recently, Henrickson wrote, acted, directed and edited the urban Latino sci-fi mash up entitled, GB2525 which has won several Audience Favorite awards during its initial festival run. Jojo is currently writing and developing several film projects that he looks to direct and produce.
John Estrada is a writer and producer with nearly 18 years of film, television and studio experience. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, John attended Loyola High School and is a graduate of UCLA. His early film and television production credits include the American Playhouse short film, LA CARPA, as well as the hit Paramount films, CLUELESS and MOTHER. Estrada also worked as a production coordinator on the succesful television series, RESCUE 911. Estrada has also written and produced several film projects, including the festival shorts ANGELO (2000) and SPACE BANDA (2001) and the horror feature, FRIGHT CLUB (2006). Recently, Estrada completed production on the urban Latino sci-fi film GB2525 (2009), an official selection of the San Diego Latino, Coachella Valley Latino, Reel Rasquache and Cinesol Texas film festivals. Estrada was also a 2009 Producing Fellow for Film Independent's Project:Involve where he produced the Vanity Fair/Banana Republic sponsored short film, ANATOMIE D’UNE AMITIE. Currently, John is a manager in International Distribution for Universal Pictures.
